Marcella Lainey - Artist

I am a self-taught artist working in both oil and acrylics, creating colorful and expressive paintings inspired by nature, imagination, and everyday beauty. After a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse, I followed my lifelong passion for art and began a new journey as a painter.

My artwork often features bright, uplifting colors and includes waterscapes, landscapes, florals, animals, and whimsical pieces. I enjoy working on both large statement canvases and smaller, more intimate pieces, allowing each painting to bring its own unique presence and energy.

Giving back is an important part of my journey as an artist, and I love to donate paintings to support community causes and charitable events.  While going through cancer treatment, I found peace in painting oceans. The calming movement, color, and quiet strength of the water became a source of comfort and healing for me during a difficult time. From that experience, I created the “Oceans for Peace” series as a way to give back — to offer hope, peace, and encouragement to others facing cancer, reminding them they are not alone.

Commissioned artwork is also available, allowing collectors to bring their own vision to life through custom paintings created with care and creativity.
